The Solar Car Arc Generator Shelter

The Car Arc presents itself as a sun shading and energy generating
mechanism for electric vehicles. The curved structure made from
polycarbonate features an extruded front design replete with solar
filmed roof to capture solar energy and convert it into power for
electric cars and bikes. The roof also shelters vehicles against
elements and is apt for use in commercial, public and residential
applications.

Flexible Solar: Awesome, But Not Practical

One contract I’m working on wanted me to develop “flexible” solar
panels.  When I asked what qualities are important to the project, none
of them included mechanical flexibility.  In finding a design solution
for this customer, I learned that flexibility is an attribute people
like the thought of, but may not really need.

Glimpsing the Future of Solar

One thing I like about being a science writer, and about writing a book about renewable energy, is that I get to talk with (and learn from) some of the smartest people on the planet.
